Start Day of Dukan Diet - Phase One - Attack Phase

Today I have started this blog to track a new and hopefully the last diet of my life. This is called the Dukan Diet from Dr. Dukan a Frenchman whose diet has been known in Europe to end obesity and will soon be hitting the American mindsets this month.

His books can be found on Amazon.com. A diet which makes the most sense to me of anything next to my grandson's diet one that of a type one diabetic. Actually this is really more for those that are type 2 - no or low carb is where it counts. More about my success on day one later this evening and meanwhile, I will post a link to a success story blogger who spells out the diet phases and experience.

My goal is to loose 50 lbs. (this sounds extreme, but I weigh 188 lbs and am only just under 5'5") By starting today, my diet calender will go as follows:

Phase 1 Start April 7 will end on Tuesday April 12
Phase 2 Start on Wednesday April 13
Phase 3 Start on  August 22 (weight loss goal 50 lbs achieved just in time for my B day gift to self on 21st!)
Phase 4 Start on February 23 

The diet will include 20-30 minutes of walking or equivalent exercise each day.

I will be blogging my daily efforts to combat my terrible habits/addiction to SUGAR, FAT and FLOUR and hope to share success of weight-loss as well. If you are interested in how I got started and how you can too for free I'm happy to tell you. This in no way endorses anything for money. This blog and my own diet effort is purley a way for me to track my progress based on the information I have read about this diet and want to share my experience with others of what I hope to be the best thing I have decided to do in a long time. Time will tell. Here goes, wish me luck!

Today I did this:

Had 1 cup of black decaf coffee (Gano) . This was tough since I like sweetened and creamy coffee. I bet my taste will change llike any habit does. No breakfast food since I didn't prepare night before. UGH! grabbed dry oat bran 5tsp for day in case I wanted to pop in microwave at work. Took one liter of water with me. Bit of advice: be sure to prepare all food needed to take with you to work the night before for your next day.

Went to Grocery store at lunchtime (1:30 late luncht so was ravished). Bought Smoked Turkey lunch meat and Roasted Chicken hot from the deli. Ate lunchmeat rollups in car then chicken back at office then for snack ate dry oat bran (all) with my water. Accidentally left smoked turkey in bag in my office...darn will have to pitch in am if rodents don't get it first. Drank rest of liter water on way home.

Grabbed another liter of water while changing at home then 35 minutes on the arch trainer at the gym then dinner (two chicken legs) at daughter Mollie's house. At home finished second liter water and started on third while preparing two servings of salmon for tomorrow's lunch and thawing chicken for tomorrow's dinner and breakfast for Saturday. Also decided to try pure protein oat bran muffins recipe from the Dukan cookbook I could view on amazon. I felt like I was cheating although it was items on the list including egg whites, oatbran and an ingredient called fomage frais a French fresh white cheese that we don't really have around here or hard to find. I found list of substitites for it online. Well since it was 8:30 and I was midway of mixing ingredients,  I used what I had which was unsweetend almond milk. Lowfat and low carb. Figured it would be like Skim milk. I flavored batter with cinnamon, orangepeel and splenda. Sprinkled top with orange peel and also splenda. GLAD I DID, they were good! Made 6. Ate two, with more water.
